Pebble Beach Auctions of Gooding & Company -- August 2010

During the week leading up to the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, collector car auctions conducted by five auction companies on California's Monterey Peninsula grossed $172 million in sales for 692 automobiles sold. The two held by Gooding & Company were done in conjuction with the Concours and right next to the Lodge of the Golf Links. Both sessions pulled in $64.6 million in sales, for 105 cars sold out of 137 consigned (77%). Gooding's average selling price was $614,902.

I attended the second of the Gooding auctions, on Aug. 15. And I am happy to share a few of the pictures I took. The sale prices shown include the 10% buyer's premium. For more information, visit Gooding's Web site at http://www.goodingco.com/ .

I shot the photos in this gallery with a handheld Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 18-200mm VR zoom. Some are marked CR, ST, WB or BR in their captions, which indicate that cropping, straightening, white balance or brightness adjustments were made. The rest are as-is, straight from the camera, with no post-processing. All have been resized for online viewing.
