8th July, Waverley

Isle of Bute

The Waverley used to be the steamer that took you to the Isle of Bute,
Now 'she' just puffs sedately up and down on tour in her retirement years.
Today is our last day on Bute,
but we'll be back

Another great crop. The chimneys pull you in and the detail and light convey a great festive atmosphere. The seagull top left is just the compositional cherry on the cake -- you couldn't have got it in a better position if you'd nailed it to the mast.

Nice perspective. Had a few trips up the Clyde on the Waverly when I was a kid. Nice to see she's still in good shape. Wish I could say the same for me ;-)

The red stacks really catch the eye. Like the bird you caught in this one, too.

You're certainly putting that zoom to good use. Fantastic shot, Northy.

What a lady. I will have to go riding on her one day. Good perspective on this shot.
