Mt Magazine State Park is the highest point in Arkansas. Atop Signal Hill, the land rises to 2753 ft above sea level. The park offers sightseeing, birding, horseback riding trails, hang gliding, picnicking, and camping. The park opened in 2002. It is located on a flat topped sandstone cap with rock cliffs. The park is home to many species of butterfly, and hosts the annual “Mt Magazine International Butterfly Festival”.
To preserve the natural beauty, fences and hazardous warning signs have not been installed in some areas of the park. So caution is advised.
