Newer version of an older person...

my front porch

Since I spend all my time behind the camera
which is right where I looooove being,
I did think it was time to update my portrait pic.
I've added stripes behind me (at least they're not ON me)
wore thinning black, photoshopped the zits and old age spots
as best I could and short of getting plastic surgery,
this is the newer version of the older, matronly
(my dear friends way of saying...chunky :-)) ME!
Now, I do hate my picture taken as most of us probably do,
BUT...I love seeing who's behind the camera taking all the
fantastic photos I see on pbase ... it makes it so much more personal,
a feeling of realness. So, I gritted my teeth,
mumbled obscene words under my breath, set up a tripod
and got with the program. All I can say is...
I LOVE POST PROCESSING!
Happy Shooting!

Some of us seeing beauty in the passing, Paula captures it in the moment for all to be touched.

Well done,

Cheers,
Dean

I ran across your photos while checking weatherunderground.com and got pulled in by some snow-covered mountain scenes. I then checked out some of your galleries and this photo struck me. I am also a fan of being behind the lens rather than in front, but I have to tell you that this picture of you is simply gorgeous. You are a beautiful woman! Must be weird having a stranger say it, but I couldn't keep it to myself. :)

Paula ! You Go Girl ! You Look Fabulous !!!!! You Know there's alot to be said for someone "brave" enough to be in front of the camera........not me ! I will stay on the other side ! Keep smiling ! It reflects in all of your beautiful photos that you take! I truly love the 'cowboy' ones! Yes! Beach Girls can love the west ! Wish I could experience it....first hand...one of these days.......

Hi Paula -- I found a photo of Lamoille on WG and thought, "Oh good, you're back!" But it was somebody else who's enjoying your corner of the world. I am glad to see you are still hard at work on Pbase. I'll go gallery-skulking!

ps. Love the sisterly comments for your sister and other healthy women. Age is one of the benefits of living so long! I've earned every wrinkle and gray hair.... it's time to change my attitude!!!!! Thanks for the laugh

Maybe my favorite of this group for the clarity. L'arc de montagnes avant sa beauté. zm

Lindsay Wagner-esque... I'm not buyin' the: " wore thinning black, photoshopped the zits and old age spots as best I could and short of getting plastic surgery, this is the newer version", either. I'm with your sister!!!
" Isn't my sister beautiful? Oh sooo beautiful! Inside and out! Raineykae"

You need to post your pic...THEN the world would see one gorgeous lady...
Thanks for always being my biggest supporter and encourager. Love you!

Thats easy for you to say. I need to get a fish eye lens and set the camera in a neighbor's yard to get me all in. Even photo shop can't do that much of a make over. (on me) I usually shy away from the lens end of the camera myself. I also hate mirrors. I've yet to find one to lie like I want it to. You look great Paula.

Thanks Susanne!!! I had to laugh at my own thoughts also...like, duh, how old am I??? ok, let's not go there...but...
I do encourage every one out there to step in front of that little black box and starting liberating yourself...FREEDOM! It is freeing, just letting go and saying to heck with worrying about what other's say or think. I've seen some awesome Friday SP's here on pbase...it's what gave me the courage...well at least this once. It won't be happenin' every Friday though...I ain't that courageous!!! :)
Happy shooting and go for it Susanne!!!
