I found this guy on the deck rail, flat on his back and kicking. He was fairly large, as beetles go (a little over 3/4"). I rolled him over (after the photo) and he went on his way. I guess he somehow got upside down and couldn't turn over. Taken, hand-held, with a Nikon 105mm VR macro lens.
