Standing in front of the utility cabinet, looking back at the main part of the kitchen.

Use Mr. Jones as a reference if you are lost. He hasn't moved! (We think the laid-back part comes from coonhound, it sure ain't the dalmatian part.) This pic shows the far end of the kitchen. We put the corner cabinet and appliance garage in for practical storage. There is a super susan in the base cab. Next to that is the pull-out waste can (the kind where the door is attached, you just pull it open). The cold air return is under that window, so I took advantage of the need to keep it open by putting a seating area there. The counter narrows to 16" at this point, to keep from having to rebuild that side of the archway. So you can sit sideways and face the cook, and still have a surface to use for preparing veggies, or look out the window if you choose. The counter stool swivels. Some of my McCoy pottery can be seen at the far left and far right on the shelves. The white and blue thing in the lower right corner is a footstool from Levengers. I had hoped to be able to use it down by the window seats, but the space was too narrow. I keep it handy for climbing into cupboards or I take one section off and create a set of one and two level stepping-stools for Megan to get into the paw-washing station. You'll see.
