Our hearth: a "Greek Horse" from Craigslist, a thrift shop vase, and an Elephant carving that is a gift from India.

The "Greek Horse" is a cast stone Trojan Horse body on a metal wheeled cart - you remember your Greek History? I bought it from a lady of Greek descent who called it a "Greek Horse" rather than a "Trojan Horse." That does make sense, as it was the Athenians who made it to sneak inside the city of Troy, which was at a place that is now in Turkey. It makes me wonder why WE call it a Trojan Horse! The vase was $5 from a junk shop in Poughkeepsie NY. The elephant is a resin carving that Bill's friend, who went home to India for a visit, brought back for us. It is a baby elephant, carved inside a bigger elephant. It might be jadeite, but seems like resin to me. Either way, it is quite a feat! That is my electric fireplace insert, too, then a basket (70% off!) from Michael's, holding my pillows.
