Speak to me? by John down under

beside my speaker

Here is poor Molly, sitting beside my surround sound speaker and looking sad because nobody is speaking to her or taking her for a walk. This is what I saw when I looked across from where I was sitting at my computer. She often grabs her leash or harness like this when she wants a walk. If we wait, she will sometimes even grab a second leash or harness in case we didn't notice the first one.

From John down under:
Thanks Claudio and Niamh. I know dogs are not everyone's cup of tea, but I guessed you two would drop in (Niamh, I hope your camera comes back soon as good as new). I chose this framing once I had decided on a title, with the speaker taking part in the 'speak to me' theme. I like double meanings. While this framing might not appeal to everyone from the artistic point of view, it was part of my meaning for the theme and part of more experimentation to look past the obvious when putting something together for a gallery like this. Hopefully it is something to make people think a bit more about the theme and the title and how the elements of the picture integrate within that framework. Claudio is referring to a different crop I did for another post that included more space and the edge of my sofa further to the right. I think I left the speaker out of that one altogether. No bribery needed for this one. I just looked across and there she was, having dropped the leash there herself. It seems even neglect can be a useful tool in some situations. ;o)
Cheers, John

Excellent framing and Claudio's right - Molly's face just makes the shot. So you didn't have to bribe her with biscuits this time. ;)

Hi John,

Molly espression in this picture is priceless and it comes with a good story. Dogs know very well how to make us all feel guilty.... I'm a bit fuzzy but I think I prefeered the original image than this tigheter crop, but both are good pictures
