The north end of the 'actual' trailhead campground, as opposed to the 'unofficial' camping area where our party and others stayed. Several horse parties camped here for the lush meadow grasses, using temporary electric fencing. I saw and heard many of the 50+ birds I listed in this area, while others stayed up in the forest.
