Weymouth ~ my birthplace

Took a trip back to my home town yesterday, and revisited many of the haunts that were familiar to me as a child. Places where I fished, explored, built 'dens', kicked balls and bought sweets for 6d a bag!! I thought I'd present the gallery in sepia tone as it was a fairly dull day and the colours looked pretty drab anyway! But, then, I took some more shots on subsequent visits so there are a few in colour too.

Stephen! What a wonderful set of photos of my all time favourite place anywhere. I live in Kamloops BC Canada now and note that being born 1947 I am not the first correspondent living over here, who thrilled at seeing your wonderful photography work. IN addition I have to say that in 1953 Weymouth General hospital saved my life through kidney removal while on holiday. Special memories. You have re-invigorated my determination to return and retire to the Weymouth area. It's unbeatable!!! I especially enjoyed the Jubilee clock and The Royal photos.

I was born in Weymouth, 1951, my grandparents had the old Marquis of Granby, Crickerell Road so have many wonderful memories. I live on the Gold Coast, Australia now but am lucky enough to return once a year to visit family who still live in the area. Hi Chris,found your page while looking for pics of Weymouth,i also grew up there, born in 1947 and have lived in Canada for 25 years now!, looking at the pictures of the stone pier and the nothe brought back so many happy memories of the countless days spent fishing off the stone pier just waiting for the big one to bite, but of course only getting tiddlers!!,what lovely pictures, thank you for sharing them, keep up the good work,
