Quite close enough!

Ol Jogi ranch, Laikipia Plateau, Kenya

Though our trip to Nanyuki was mainly about 'work', (or what we in the church call 'ministry'), we were fortunate enough to have a brilliant one night's stay at the Ol Jogi ranch, around 45 minutes from town. This is a 65,000 acre ranch, (owned by some American billionaires), in which there are a fair number of wild animals, including hippo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, lion, leopard, jackals, etc., etc.

The manager of the ranch kindly took us for a drive on which we saw a number of different species, including these chaps! When I took this shot I was probably standing no more than 30 yards away from them which, believe me, was "quite close enough"!

Great shot Chris. From what I understand, hippos can have a nasty disposition. Close enough for sure!
