This dome holds a high-quality 16" telescope available to the public which can be operated via the Internet. It sits in this dome on a hill above Flagstaff at 7,250' elevation.
The Lowell Observatory is most famous for its Pluto Telescope - the one that discovered the ninth Planet Pluto.
