ANZAC Commemorative

So on April 25, the troops landed (note that there were 5 weeks for the Ottomans to prepare defenses). The British and French landed on the very tip of the peninsula (Cape Helles) and troops from Australia and New Zealand landed to the north-northeast. It was the first time these two nations had that large a body of troops in the field, organized as a corps (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps or ANZAC). April 25 is a national holiday in both countries. I was there on April 11 and you can see the grandstand at the left in anticipation of the ceremony that was held on April 25.
