Another 2 weeks on the Sea of Cortez, this time we ventured on further north of La Paz past Loreto to Santa Rosalia.
We crossed over from there to San Carlos, it was a very rough crossing the first I have yet experienced in the 4 weeks
I have spent out there exploring.
Almost every day was like being in a lake, perfect glass, until the day we had to cut accross the sea. It was 9 hours
of being tossed around like a cork in a washing machine! I did very good no hard sea sickness just light queasiness.
Could not stand up for long so I spent most of the time sleeping and laying down.
Quite an experience indeed........
Of all the almost 800 or so miles of the Sea I had the pleasure to cruise, the bays north of San Carlos were my favorite.
Diving was incredible with visabilities of 80-90 ft. Sea life was abundunt with Bat Mantas jumping and doing flips,
Dolphins, Turtles (saw one), Minke Whales and 2 humpacks, Moorish Idols, Parrott fish, Trigger fish, schools
of Cortez Angels surrounded by their brood! Scallops and Clams were everywhere so we did eat quite well! The
shelling was like nothing I have ever seen I scored some very unusual prizes. Anchoring in bays with miles of
uninhabited beaches actually seeing no one for miles and miles blew me away. It gets in your blood, the sea that is,
the serenity, the peace, the daily entertainment by dolphins. I think God gave them to the sea for man's long journeys,
just when you are hot, tired, bored, and trying to find a good anchor along comes the pod's of dolphins jumping in 3's,
doing flips in the air, slapping the water trying to get your attention. You can't help but forget about everything
and laughter takes over, everyone has a smile on their face once again. It always made my day!
