tv crew

Blackpool

Ever been approached in your home town (in a pubic place, by someone from out of town) and asked "can I help you?".

Happened to me yesterday. Blackpool Prom. 6pm. On my way back from the zoo I came across a film crew going about their work. I didn't get too close as I had no intention of disturbing them (which was a bit silly given that this is Blackpool!). I took a couple of shots and hung around killing time for a while. Then a woman walked over to me and asked me "Can I help you?". As I had a telephoto lens she was concerned that I may be with the press as "we have had people jumping from behind cars, taking photos and printing untrue stuff in the papers". Well, in case you're wondering if Hollywood hot-shots were in town, the answer is no. The crew were shooting a BBC drama, called "Blackpool". At the same time this was going on a group of male 'visitors' were playing football *along the roadway*, and then they gave their mate a leg-up and stole a sign from one of the businesses along the prom. Every feel like your home's been invaded by madness?
