I like to secure the stanchions in place with a tiny amount of super glue that way they can be broken free with gentle pressure. With the stanchions in place I bend the railing starting at the stepwell working my way toward the cab. Once the railing is complete I thread it through the stanchions after removing them from the shell, then reattach the stanchions to the model. Next I apply some flux to each joint then solder the rail to the stanchions on the model.
