Boeing B-17 and Consolidated B-24 bombers were equipped with a General Electric Type B-2 or B-13 turbo-supercharger for each of their four engines. The turbo-supercharger offers significantly better poweroutput at high altitudes and lower speeds, so itīs the more attractive solution for slower flying, high altitude planes, such as bombers and load carriers.
