This image is from a photo shoot that I set up in my studio, “The Wow Factory” last Saturday. The setup consisted of a fish tank with a hollow white plastic head I found at a flea market. I ran a plastic tube from a fish tank aerator through the hollow head to just outside of the open mouth. The tank was set on a light table so there was under lighting. Small lights were also placed on the sides and above to give form to the head and modulate the light through the moving water. There was a sheet of black velvet placed behind the tank and between the tank and black velvet was a shallow glass dish that held small pulsating fireworks. A friend lit the fireworks and then did a massive amount of shooting and tweaking till I got something I liked. Did a lot more improvising during the shoot including an upward curtain of bubbles and adding colored dyes to the water. All in all a fun time shoot.
