I have a theory, and it's only a theory mind, that the active ingredient in catnip is actually cardboard. Otherwise I'm at a loss to explain the attraction which seems to be both universal and well documented. ("Wherever a cardboard box is placed, there too shall be the household cat.") You got some decent light on him here considering that it doesn't seem to be an exceptionally well lit room.
