The Pollinator

I've spent more time in the garden in the two and a half weeks since we got
our new puppy Fudge than I did all year.
I love these cheery orange flowers - they remind me of my mother who planted
them before I was born. I liked how the light was shining on them and then
noticed that a bee had landed.

Glorious light shining through those pretty petals. That little pollinator has a beautiful place to work!

It looks a bit like Crocosmia. Very graceful plants and it's lovely to see this bee at work.

It must be nice to have a "living memento" like this one.
This is a wonderfully vibrant shot; I like the way the light catches the individual "hairs" on the bee as well, not to mention the way it's passing through its wings and the flower petals.
