The Arneson River Theatre can seat 800 people on the south side of the San Antonio River.
Built by the Works Project Administration in 1939 as part of architect Robert Hugman's
design for the River Walk, the stage for this unique theater sits on one bank of the river
while the audience sits in the amphitheater on the on the opposite bank.

Performances consist of everything from opera to Tejano.
