Awaiting Their Fate

Galveston Island. Texas

Retired Burlington Northern Santa Fe locomotives waiting to be shipped off to other countries. There are about 100 of them altogether.
I was excited to see (geeking out) the one with the old 1990 Burlington Northern Executive paint scheme - the green and and tan on the right.

Neat shot! It's good they are getting recycled.

Great shot. It could be used for journalistic purposes in a railroad magazine. Glad that all the locomotive power in this yard is not going to waste.

Love this shot, yet something poignant about it too. V

That's really cool. My favorite H.O. engine was a Burlington Northern Black and Green.

a strong encounter with major powers...there are clearly stylistic variations along with the different colour schemes...no shame geeking out Lynn, as at least you know your stuff..

So cool! (and I am so envious) What is the white and blue one to the left of the BN Executive painted one? ~BV~
