Volcanic Tuff - Not Snow

Big Bend National Park, Texas

Along Ross Maxwell road, you see lava, volcanic tuff and ash, The white stuff is not snow.
It is Volcanic Tuff. Tuff is a type of rock made of volcanic ash ejected from a vent during a volcanic eruption. Following ejection and deposition, the ash is lithified into a solid rock.

I think it would have been an amazing sight to see when it all occurred. Of course behind safety glass though :) Nice composition, Lynn. V
