It's bonfire night tonight.
More correctly known as Guy Fawkes' night.
A night where we all come together to remember the foiling of a plot to blow up the English Parliament in 1605.
Scotland was an independent country back then.
We had our own parliament, so the Gunpowder Plot had nothing to do with us.
Yet we still celebrate it.
Or are we commiserating the failure of the plot?
Looking at the current bunch of people occupying the green benches of what is now the UK parliament, perhaps we need a new Guy Fawkes.
Anyway, Dundee usually has a fireworks display on the other side of the hill in the distance.
I'm not sure it's happening tonight, though.
