The bike - July 24-04

Made 50 miles on the bike yesterday and got a flat tire just when I entered Brussels on the way back. So took the tram and the metro for the last 5 miles.

I will repair this today and add a saddlebag with the necessary outfit to repair on the spot in future.

It's the first time it happens to me in 30 years. It was also my first long ride this year and my ass reminds me this with some pain for a few days :)

And who said one can not use a 1000 iso picture from a low end DSLR. This picture is made at 1000 ISO. Strange that pbase does not show the iso value in the exif file. It shows clearly in my Nikon View and Capture.

View this picture in original big size to get a noise idea.

I admire your energy and wind. That is a long way.

We had a flat on our road bike a few days ago and had to walk a little. Today a 30 mile bike ride, in Northern Ca. I wish I was in Belgium a few weeks ago to see the beginnings of the TDF!

sorry but those tyres are a little too skinny for me, hope you next ride runs a little smoother

pretty good for ISO 1000, certainly usable in 'large', and you should be able to fix it up w/out a problem in the original size. Heating pad today?

So you have a goodlooking bike - and use it! It's a great picture under those conditions.
