Train approaches

view map

A westbound Union Pacific stack train approaches an unnamed grade crossing near Montello, Nevada. Looking northeast. A mirage is visible on the right-of-way near the locomotives.

Dave, I sometimes get the impression that, of the two of you, Joe has more sense.. Nice photo.

Railways and tracks make beautiful photos.
Have you seen this one by Joe Petolino.

Nice bw work, Dave! One slip by you and we'd have to re-caption this "Blood On The Tracks".

Worry not---Joe was in the car (off duty), well away from the tracks. I will not travel to the end of the tracks because I'm afraid I'll be a victim of the vanishing point.

Nice photo. I trust you and Joe T. got off the tracks before the train arrived. Have you ever traveled to the end of the tracks to see if the rails meet? or is that just a mirage too?
