I’ve tried to capture something of a Jack Vettriano style here. I’m not sure how well I achieved it because really he’d have had my bright red lips showing with a small smile over David’s shoulder but boy is it difficult composing when you’ve no ability to look through the viewfinder!
I love his work (Vettriano’s that is), albeit that I’m a new admirer of his. Claire had a book of his paintings that I was flicking through last time we were in Melton Mowbray. I was completely transfixed by the gorgeous sensuality of his work. Funnily enough, I actually like the more risqué works better than the romantic ones. They are slightly dangerous images if you see what I mean and that’s something of a weakness of mine.
My starburst is in use though not obviously, I had some diamante flowers in my hair and hoped they would sparkle but they can’t be seen at all….ah well, the best laid plans! Anyway, it has softened the image and that’s exactly what the doctor ordered so that’s grand.
Anyway, so you don’t all think I’ve gone completely soft….this is why I originally thought of this composition (the Jack Vettriano slant came later)…..
Let's dance little stranger
Show me secret sins
Love can be like bondage
Seduce me once again
Burning like an angel
Who has heaven in reprieve
Burning like the voodoo man
With devils on his sleeve
Won't you dance with me
In my world of fantasy?
Lords of the New Church – Dance With Me
This wonderful song has long been one of my faves, it’s been on the Teac in the kitchen recently and like my ‘our little angel’ shot was inspired by me leaping around the kitchen to the album recently.
So, I hope Jack would approve of the choice of the Lords to go with a Vettriano-esque pic – I think he would. He’s definitely a slightly dangerous man. Now off to find my very own ‘slightly dangerous man’…….
