With the scoffer back, I thought it would be appropriate to have a foodie pic today as a show of solidarity.
So we’re having sweet and sour cashew nut and vegetable stir-fry flavoured with garlic, chilli and ginger – yum!
In fact, here are the veggies going into the wok!
I thought I was going to have a nice colourful shot of a Southall sari shop to show you today as I’ve been on an emergency dash over there today but the weather was horrible, dark and cold and snowing (again). It meant that my max of 400asa on the G3 couldn’t cope. Where did March go? It’s supposed to be getting milder and nicer but it seems to be going backwards.
My emergency dash was in search of pink fabric (TNS pink) to match our exhibition stand for next week’s industry conference in Wales. We’ve decided to go really OTT, dress up the stand with loads of pink fabric and give all our clients and other guests pink smoothies. Last year we were still boring blue and red so this is the first BHBIA with the new livery. I promised ages ago to get the pink fabric and have left it to the last minute then couldn’t source any locally to the office. With only two business days to go or a desperate last-minute change of plan, it had to be Southall to be sure of getting some. The Asian community sure knowa thing or two about colour – everything is vibrant and bright……I knew the place wouldn’t let me down and it didn’t.
So, sitting downstairs in a carrier bag, ten metres of finest fuchsia pink satin and a smoothie maker still in its box!
I still think most of my colleagues have no idea of the effort that goes into making these things look and feel good for them. The Louises and I charge around like headless chickens most of the time.
All we have to do now is source the strawberries for our pink drink, empty Woolies of pink sweets and away we go.
