view no. 4 ~ black and white world

" ...Shades of grey wherever I go
The more I find out the less that I know
Black and white is how it should be
But shades of grey are the colors I see
Life is a work of art
And you gotta paint it colorful
Can make it anything you want
Don't have to stick to any rules... "

I like how you've framed the frenetic nature in colour from your sanctuary in black and white. Also interesting is how the colour of the world beyond this crowd is washed out giving that I'm right here right now feeling. ace!

This is Macau :)
Took a similar image as well. I found people putting coins on that place is weird.

Superb perspective Al - I love the way the eye is drawn to the buildings in the distance, then back to the people, and then all the way back to the lens! GMV.

A good example of layering, Ai Li. Kal sums it up quite well -- you make your viewers outsiders, peering at the world through a gap in time. You give us much to consider here -- the perspective, a smattering of colors in a monotone world, the slapdash city-- created out of a series of accidents rather than a plan. The people huddle in the midst of it, waiting in the rain for something we can not see.

Surrounded by the grey, but the crowd is colorful. Not sure if there is joy or saddness, despair or hope in this people. But your words are giving me hope. Bold image, very nice work.

Thanks for the hopeful words! And the picture illustrate this hope perfect! Love the depth in this picture - to see with your eyes, to feel in your heart. Voted!

What a moving image! I like your write up. Very effective, and great work, as always.

It's like an island of colour in a monotone world. Where you stand, is the other side....a kind of hopeful image that in all that drabness...there is always somewhere. K

Im first. The compopsition and pov are superb. First my eyes saw the high rises, but for me what makes this image is the people with brolleys mulling around in tyhe foreground. Superb. Like a winow to the colour or the gerey. Vote
