Well this is very powerful. Alienation. Alone. Silence (to me this is a very "silent" mood) The diagonals somehow make it seem that there is a world passing by, just beyond our vision. Excellent. Powerful.

Wonderful and moody

WOW. Dito with what everyone said. Voted!

Another nice one. Another solitary person trying to find some space and meaning to his world..

It has all been said, Ai Li, this is wonderful.

Another wonderful shot - the other comment have said it all already, but I love the noisy grainy effect as well. Great sense of isolation amidst the big city.

These comments of Kal!!! Leads me to a higher level to see what is really important. Thanks Kal! Like the extreme abstraction too! Strong picture - depressing mood inside!

Abstraction is just so powerful here. Stuegan touches on the point. Without a face, this becomes anyone, and if it's anyone, it's everyone...a symbolic image, no longer polluted with personality...phenomenal..K

I've just noticed that aside from your photo "single no. 1 ~ lean on me", with many of the recent photos (and also some near the beginning of the gallery) you don't see the faces of the people - or perhaps just a slight glimpse of part of a face. I think this adds to the sense of isolation the viewer gets as much as the wonderful frames you have captured around the individuals.

Lonelyness and lonelyness again. A terrific view on our modern city living. Agree with Natisumber: love how the lines on the ground draw his space. Roberto

I'm a big fan of the "overhead" shot as you may know. Composition is excellent in this one, adn the high noise adds to the "gritty" feeling. I like all the different lines as well - they add an interesting, graphic element.
Guest 24-Jul-2006 15:26
The composition traps this lonely "businessman" between the bottom left corner and the patterns on the ground. The darkness of the scene gives a feel on lack of hope. Very well done. Voted.

These lone figures would make a wonderful collection of their own. Very strong sense of alone here.
Guest 24-Jul-2006 13:56
Love how the geometry of the ground draws his space. There is here a strrong feeling of lonelyness reinforced by the light and the (omniscient) point of view. Hope he'll not close on the same feeling!;)
