In 1638 the refectory was enlarged by Abbot January Maes. In this space, three times a day the monks still come together to eat. The beautiful stucco ceiling was introduced in 1679 by Jan Christiaan Hansche commissioned by the abbot Libert Pape. The central theme the artist chose the Last Supper. Abbot Paul de Bruyn (1702-1719) ordened the French painter Duplessis in 1716-1719 to produce five large paintings with subjects as: The vision of Norbert Prémontré at (location of the first abbey), Jesus in Emmaus, The Raising of Lazarus, Jesus with the Children and The Marriage of Canaan.

De refter werd in 1638 vergroot door Abt Jan Maes. In deze ruimte komen de kloosterlingen nog steeds drie maal daags samen om te eten. Het prachtige plafond in stucwerk werd in 1679 aangebracht door Jan Christiaan Hansche in opdracht van abt Libert de Pape. Als centraal thema koos de kunstenaar het Laatste Avondmaal. Abt Paul de Bruyn (1702-1719) gaf in de jaren 1716-1719 aan de Franse kunstschilder Duplessis de opdracht voor de wanden vijf grote schilderijen te vervaardigen met als onderwerpen: Het visioen van Norbertus te Prémontré (vestigingsplaats van de eerste norbertijnenabdij), Jezus bij de Emmaüsgangers, De opwekking van Lazarus, Jezus met de Kinderen en De bruiloft van Kanaan.
