Vandana Pandit in haar keuken. Vandana is 35 jaar oud. Ze raakte HIV besmet door haar man die aan aids stierf in 2001. Haar leven was één ellende en haar schoonfamilie was niet zo vriendelijk tegen haar. Verschillende keren wilde ze zelfmoord plegen, maar toen dacht ze aan haar drie kinderen en dat gaf haar de moed om opnieuw al haar energie bijeen te rapen en opnieuw te beginnen. Nu werkt Vandana voor SEARCH (Social Economic Assistance for Rural and City Habitants) en begeleidt ze andere HIV+ vrouwen. Ze is ook erg actief in de zelfhulp groep voor vrouwen die ze hielp opstarten.

Vandana Pandit in her kitchen. Vandana is 35 years old. She was infected by her husband who died on AIDS in 2001. Her life was an awful affair and her in- laws were not so friendly to her. Several times she wanted to kill herself, but then the thought of her three children gave her the courage to gather all her energy and to start again. Today Vandana works for SEARCH (Social Economic Assistance for Rural and City Habitants) and guides other HIV+ Women. She is also very active in the self-help group which she started up.
