Wild turkey

Beechwood Cemetery

The small flock of turkeys were back at the crabapple trees, but the lower branches have lost most of their fruit to them by now. One flew into the tree but was hard to photograph among the branches, and one jumped energetically a few times, but so energetically that each time I pressed the shutter I got only his body in view!

He looks vaguely regal...scrawny yes, but self-important :o). Good shooting to get this so sharp, well composed too

Great portrait from this angle with this detail. I like the falling snow. "V"

I was pretty sure from the thumb it would be a female peacock.
He looks fed up with the effort of getting apples.

Female turkeys are so blah compared to the toms. Nice capture! V.

As a 'back-up' photo, it reveals some great detail. V

You got a sharp photo of this one. They are strange looking birds, for sure.

At least you got a good portrait of this scrawny looking bird. Hopefully they find enough food for the cold days.

the feathers seem in disarray, perhaps after a bout of leaping...you caught a good look at it though, rewarding to view..
