Autumn moth

Lavigne Park

Either Bruce's Spanworm or the Autumn Moth. Clinging to a clubmoss, this was one of at least five such moths seen today, despite snow and at least early on, below freezing temperatures. Somehow they survive.

C’est un très beau plan rapproché. Ce papillon était bien caché dans ces hautes herbes.

I've seen moths still active here, too, even after an early snow and a prolonged hard freeze. This is a really cool shot.
