Peaceful

In the small historic and peaceful town of Carcoar NSW. When I took this photo the beautiful church was waiting for the bulldozers, but the determined and small community raised the money ( half a million ) and bought and saved it.
I didn't know this at the time but one day once the pandemic ends and we can travel again across the borders we will be stopping to take another look and if they have a donation box will happily add to it.

St Pauls Church Carcoar 1845, the second oldest church west of The Great Divide, NSW

I like its situation, nestling at the foot of the hills...so glad it wasn't demolished, it's a charming little church

I love it when people can come together and save an import part of the past.

That's great that the community saved a piece of their history. It's a most attractive looking church.

Good for them!
I remember a church coming down in Guildford about 30 or 40 years ago, but sometimes redundant churches are repurposed. I think one in Godalming has been a restaurant for a few years now.

So glad to hear that this was saved, it would be a disgrace to bulldoze it. V
