Engine 18 was cut from the Buffalo Fire Department in 2002. Engine 18 served the East Side and Polonia for over 120 years. Engine 18 is now in the reserve fleet stationed at Fire Headquarters. There was talk of reopening Engine 18 in 2003 but that was quickly forgotten. Engine 18's quarters are still used as a Training Annex for the Buffalo Fire Department. Now coverage in the area is done by Engine 22.
