St. Joseph's Cathedral, 50 Franklin St. Buffalo, NY
Construction began in 1851, and it served as the "Bishop's Church" until 1912, when St. Joseph's New Cathedral was built on Delaware at Utica. In 1977, the New Cathedral was demolished, and this building again became the diocesan Cathedral.
Nearly 7 years later, let me emphatically agree with this post. I have visited this church. I have also seen photos of what it looked like BEFORE this Vatican II hatchet job! WTF were they thinking??!

It was much more spectacular before the wreck-o-vation which removed the beautiful center altarpiece and replaced it with trees.
