Marysville fires on Black Saturday - 7 February 2009

These are some images of the disastrous Marysville fires of Black Saturday, 7 February 2009. This was just a part of the dreadful fires that swept across Victoria on that day. Marysville, a beautiful village in the mountains was almost completely wiped out. We had a cottage there in which we spent many wonderful holidays. It was totally destroyed

Great photos Ken. Mel and I were up there at Easter time to see if MArylands had survived as this is where I proposed to her. Unfortunately, it did not and it was a very sobering experience when we drove and walked around. No matter what Marysville looks like now or into the future we will still love taking day trips up there on weekends. The memories of old MArysville may fade but the memories of Black Saturday will probably never.

Dear Mr. Ken!
I feel very pity about this fire! Everything was burnt!
The most important thing is that you stayed alive and healthy!
I hope you will build another one house that will be much better then the old one!
