Gullfoss (Golden Falls) is a waterfall located in the canyon of Hvítá river in southwest Iceland and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country. The water from the falls flows into a crevice which, as you approach the falls, is obscured from view, so that it appears the mighty river simply vanishes into the earth.
