God and Money Intersect

Trinity Church sits at the head of Wall Street on Broadway in Lower Manhattan. (And you thought the bull held court here!) The present day church is the third incarnation and is classic Gothic Revival architecture. Consecrated on Ascension Day May 1, 1846, it dominated the skyline of lower Manhattan. It is now surrounded by towering skyscrapers and sits less than a block from the WTC site.
The original burial ground at Trinity Church includes the graves and memorials of many historic figures, including Alexander Hamilton.

Who would have thought that there would be a church such as this located at the head of Wall Street? I wouldn't even be surprised if some of the people who work in those gray buildings are turning to prayer in that church these days! Your image shows quite a juxtaposition of two worlds, Jenene. Vote

But, God is so much more important than money. Without Him we don't have much hope. Beautiful shot...gorgeous composition! Big vote!

The church in the center of tall buildings looks inviting. Great shot! v

I am amazed at how small Wall St looks. So much power behind those walls all overlooked by this lovely little church.

It is great spot to merge the buildings of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries with the indifferent crowds of 21st century pedestrians. They seem so transitory, compared to the permanence of the structures.

I think that Church as an institution is well integrated in the money institution in the US and elsewhere, in an easier way than the architecture can, but that's just my 2 cents ;-)

Alone amongst the skyscrapers...interesting comparison of architecture, and perspective adds to your composition! As in many of your NY shots, you use motion to relay the energy around you.. It says something for God, that he's been able to thwart off the evils of money, and have a house still stand here.
