Kohoutek 1-14 (K1-14)
PN G045.6+24.3

Kohoutek, 1-14 (K1-14, PK 45+24.1, PN G045.6+24.3) Planetary Nebula in Hercules. Taken June 22,
23, 24, 25, 26 and 27, 2011. Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M camera and a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 at f10,
on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount and presented with a slight crop and resample. The OIII and H-alpha
subframes were 15 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB subframes were 4 minutes binned 2x2 resulting in
the following total exposures L:R:G:B = (OIII+HA):(R+Ha): (G+OIII):(B+OIII) (min) = (375+390):
(56+390): (56+375):(56+375). Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated, sigma combined in Iris with other

Very nice image! It's amazing to think that you can image something so small and faint.

Wow I never ever imagined seeing an amateur image of this very obscure planetary nebula! Its surprising how its appearance is vastly similar to a ring galaxy. As always, you never fail to reveal the secret deep that is buried away in old scientific journals and papers and I look forward to your next masterpiece!
