NGC 474 (Arp 227) galaxy type S0 in Pisces (slightly left of center), along with NGC 470 galaxy type
Sb (just right of center) and NGC 467 galaxy type S0 in the lower right corner. Arp 227 is in the
class of “Galaxies with Concentric Rings” in the Arp catalog. Taken Nov. 7, 12, 13 and 14, 2009.
Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. The L subframes
were 5 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB subframes were 1.5 minutes binned 2x2, resulting in
the following total exposures L:R:G:B (min) = 290:45:45:45. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated
and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
