M16 (Sh2-49)

M16 (Sh2-49), HII emission nebula in Serpens. Taken June 26 and Aug 10, 2004 with a C8N ASGT
telescope and mount and a Pentax MX Camera. Exposures were 6 and 7 minutes with Fujichrome
Sensia 400 film operating at F7 and a 20 minute exposure with Kodak Elitechrome 200 operating at f5
and an Orion Skyglow Broadband LPR filter. All three images were combined to produce a synthetic
L channel and the 6 and 7 minute shots form the synthetic B and G channels. Lastly the LPR shot was used
for the R channel information. Processed with RegiStar, PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS

Great job on combining frames and different films. It has really brought out the detail in the nebula. You can see the stars buried in the nebula or hiding behind it. Film can still get it done.
