I was able to get some Reds Diamond Seat tickets through my office. It has been a fun dream for both my daughter and me to be able to sit in the Diamond Seats at a Reds game. They are larger padded seats in the section right behind the net behind home plate. They provide you with special parking with an entrance right into the Diamond Club. We also had a full buffet with seafood, carving stations, side dishes and dessert for a couple of hours prior to the game. Very close attention from our server and the hosts in the restaurant, and a table that seated us right up against a glass window which looked into the tunnel to the Reds lockerroom. As the team went through the tunnel during batting practice, they were "high fiving" the kid in the table right next to us as he had his nose pressed up against the glass, in awe of every Red's uniform that went past. It was very entertaining!

We got to our seats directly from the restaurant, but the food didn't stop. In Diamond seats, you also get in-seat wait service with any food or drink (alcohol included for those so inclined) you want brought to you during the game. I had the buffet, then I had a Big Red Smokey with onions and peppers, chocolate chip cookies, and last, but not least, nachos...and of course all of my drinks. These are all included with the ticket purchase.

We originally had seats 4 rows back, almost directly behind home plate. We moved after 3 innings to a spot DIRECTLY (and I mean about 3 feet) behind the Cardinals on-deck circle...first row, more to the third base side. We felt and heard the rush of air as they swung the bats on-deck. It was incredibly cool! We could not have been ANY closer unless we were actually on the field.

As far as watching the game, I still prefer seats up just a little bit down the first or third base side. I think it's easier to actually watch the whole field of play that way. But the Diamond Seat experience was certainly fun! And, oh yeah....the Reds won 7-2. Adam Dunn hit TWO homeruns..one of them a grand slam! The weather was absolutely perfect which just completed the evening :)
