You can see the Little cable car at the bottom of the image.
The amazingly scenic panorama hike along the edge of the forest commences by the mountain station of the Muottas Muragl cable car, from where hikers enjoy views over the entire Upper Engadine lakes district even before setting off. Through the barren, but nonetheless very attractive Val Muragl valley, the way continues on a comfortable narrow path leading downhill until the point where you catch a glimpse of the Bernina massif. Funiculars have the advantage that they actually stick to the ground, unlike the mountain cable cars that are high up above the ground - so people with fear of heights can take funiculars without any problems, too.The Muottas Muragl cable car has the longest operation hours in the Upper Engadine: It runs from late May through end of October, the again the full winter season until after Easter holidays, and it is open until 11 pm for the guests of the hotel-restaurant on the top.
