Plasencia. Puerta de Trujillo

Possibly the most important gate of the walls that protect the historic center of Plasencia is the Puerta de Trujillo. This door on the west side has two arches and vault. Above this door is a small chapel in honor of Our Lady of Health, built later in the eighteenth century. On the outer side of the door is a shield of the Catholic Kings XV century and that it was the way they came in troops occupied the city name. If Trujillo Gate was built in the days when the wall rose would be dated to the late twelfth century the early thirteenth century, in times of Alfonso VIII. It is certainly one of the most important tourist attractions in the city of Plasencia, essential for part of the ancient history of Plasencia and to go into the old city full of historical monuments.
