Vienna, Austria

A large equestrian statue of Austrian Field Marshal Karl Philipp, Prince of Schwarzenberg, who fought with distinction in the Napoleonic Wars.
He was a victorious commander of the 1813 Battle of Leipzig.

In 1861, Emperor Franz Joseph I ordered the construction of the Schwarzenberg Monument to commemorate Prince Karl Philipp.
The equestrian statue was created by Ernst Hähnel and completed in October, 1867, and is on display on Schwarzenbergstrasse.
