David LaChapelle, from the series "Jesus Is My Homeboy" - "Anointing", 2003, c-print.
One of the most popular American photographers combines in his works commercial appeal with extravagance and surrealizm.
Inspired by a "Jesus Is My Homeboy" T-shirt he'd spotted, in 2003 LaChapelle created a series of interpretations of biblical scenes depicting the life of Christ.
The modern-day Jesus, according to the artist, would live among young and poor people, for instance in New York's Harlem.
