Waiting For Flood Wave

Kamion, Poland

The second flood wave on rivers in Mazovia region is expected today and tomorrow. The same big as the first one two weeks ago.
During this time it was raining a lot and the dykes are very weak and soaked with water, there is still water in the fields after the first flood. So people put the sacks with sand at the bottom of the levee to stop and prevent more leak.
This is on Bzura river, close to its mouth into Wisla river.

For the June Challenge - "urban and landscapes".

Despite the worry the floods bring, this is a wonderful shot - it looks so peaceful with the still waters and beautiful reflections...hope all is well Jola and the floods don't do too much damage

You can feel the tension in this scenery. v. norbi

One gets some idea of the size when noticing how tiny the people look!

even down under the floods in Poland has become a news item and normally they are in Australia so self centred in their news items
sad that it happens again, hopefully everything goes all right
a great journalistic urban shot

Absolutely, could not have expressed a sentiment any better than what Mr. Coile wrote!
You have the heart of a reporter and a definitive connection to your land and her people.
May the good lord watch over both.

At times like these we stand shoulder to shoulder with strangers and they in the end are our brothers and sisters.

What a scene. I hope it holds the flood waters. I hope all are safe!
