Seen through a red mist.

view map

Mam broke her hip and was admitted to hospital on 27th March.
On the same day a certain government advisor brought his infected wife from London - an area with a lot of COVID cases to County Durham where there were relatively few cases.
He got to see his family, we couldn't go to see mam even though she was tested clear twice for the virus and showed no symptoms at any point.
Mam died in an unfamiliar nursing home, where she knew no-one and we couldn't visit, on 7th May.
Her death was recorded as Covid related simply because no post-mortem examinations are being carried out. This meant we couldn't even go to see her at rest.
As you can guess I'm not a fan of Dominic Cummings - a man to arrogant to even say "I'm sorry I was wrong" - or his supporter Boris "the liar in chief" Johnson.
And people will say that Donald Trump is the biggest purveyor of Fake news!

So sorry to hear about you Mam, we can't believe how arrogant this man is not too take any responsibility for his actions. Our thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry to hear the story of your Mam. So very sad. So many innocent people being hurt by ignorant actions of those who should know better.

You know how I feel about this John as we have spoken privately. There are many people who are paid to steer their country through any crisis and others supposedly wise enough to advise...if this pandemic has shown one thing many are guilty of the phrase besetting sin ~ a fault to which a person or institution is especially prone." There was a danger of the country reverting to its besetting sin of complacency. "

a sad story, and disquieting how you and your Mam were kept apart at such a critical time...as always there seem to be different standards of conduct for the privileged though, especially the Populists who have faked their way to power...your frustration is understandable, and deepest sympathies there..
